Sowing: Sow the Purslane seeds broadcast under glass from early March to mid-May and in the open ground from mid-May to mid-August. After sowing, cover with a soaking wet bag or cloth. Remove this after germination.
Summer purslane germinates poorly in cold weather and quickly bolts. You cannot pre-sow it, the very small plants are best sown in small rows or broadcast on a piece of ground, or even in pots.
