When picking Spicy Jane peppers, timing is key. These small, spicy peppers reach their peak flavor and pungency when they are fully ripe, which is usually evident in their vibrant red color. For the best flavor experience, it is important to wait until the peppers have fully ripened on the plant. If they are harvested too early, they may not have had the chance to develop their full spicy potential. So make sure you have patience, because your wait will be rewarded with maximum flavor and heat!

Growing method

Sowing: Sow the chili pepper seeds indoors from February to April. Use seed and cutting soil and keep the temperature between 25-28°C. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots. Let them grow in a bright spot, such as a windowsill or in a greenhouse. From May onwards, the plants can be placed outside, provided there is no more night frost.

Harvesting: The chillies are ready for harvest when they are completely red, usually between July and October. Pick regularly to stimulate new growth. Use the chillies immediately, dry them for later use or process them into spicy spice mixes.
