Marmande can be grown in cold ground or under glass. Sow the seeds of Marmande beef tomatoes from the end of February in a seed tray at 20°C, or later outdoors under glass. After transplanting, plant directly in the open ground or in pots in the greenhouse. Place the tomatoes in a sheltered and sunny spot.
Sowing: sow the Marmande seeds in February - March in a heated room (approx. 20 °C). As soon as the first leaf appears, prick out (pot up separately) in flower or press pots. Plant out in open ground in a sunny spot at the beginning of May.
Plant spacing: 80 x 40 cm.
Support the plants with a stick and tie them down. When there are 3 to 4 flower clusters, break out the top of the plant. Always remove side shoots that emerge from the leaf axils when they are young (so-called thieving). Water regularly. In the greenhouse, guide the plants up a rope.
Harvesting: from mid-August to September.
