Kohlrabi Lanro is a kohlrabi variety that forms large, white, above-ground tubers. Lanro is suitable for cultivation in the greenhouse, the flat container, and for early cultivation in the open field. Harvest the Lanro kohlrabi when they are 7-8cm in diameter, before they start to crack or become fibrous.
Kohlrabi is a tasty, fresh root vegetable. The taste is similar to radish, but slightly sweeter. You can eat it raw or cooked.

Sowing
Sow the kohlrabi seeds under glass from the end of February to the beginning of April, or later from mid-April outside on a seedbed. Plant out after 5-6 weeks at a planting distance of 25 x 25 cm. For a good biological balance, it is wise to plant kohlrabi, fennel and lettuce next to it. Make sure the soil remains sufficiently moist to prevent growth problems. Drought can cause 'lignified' areas in tubers. Do not fertilize too much, calm, even growth is best.
Note: When sown (too) early, the plants are more susceptible to bolting: they then form flowering stems and little of the tuber grows.
Harvest
Harvest the kohlrabi tubers in the period May-August when the tuber has a diameter of 7-8 cm.
