Zwart Duits Lettuce – All The Year Round lettuce
Looking for a soft, tasty lettuce for your summer dishes? Zwart Duits Lettuce, also known as butter lettuce, produces tender green leaves with a light-coloured heart and a buttery soft texture. This lettuce is ideal for spring and summer cultivation in the open ground.
Sowing: Sow the lettuce seeds indoors from February to March in a seedbed under glass or directly in the open ground from March to August. For germination, a temperature of 15-20°C is ideal, a little cold can even help break the dormancy. Keep the soil moist during growth for the juiciest heads.
Harvesting: From May to September, the lettuce heads can be harvested.
