May Queen Lettuce is one of the most popular lettuce varieties for early cultivation. This traditional variety produces a firm head with soft, tender leaves and a fresh flavour. Ideal for harvesting the first lettuce of the season, but also very suitable for a late autumn harvest.

Sowing: Sow the lettuce seeds from February-March on a seedbed under glass or from mid-March to the end of May directly in rows in the open ground. Water regularly to prevent dehydration and to stimulate optimal growth. Sunny location, but sow in a shady seedbed in warm weather.
Harvesting: As soon as the heads are large enough for consumption from June to September
