Cichorium intybus Variegata di Castelfranco has heads with upright central leaves that give the beautiful and typical open rose shape. Variegato di Castelfranco's color is also surprising: the leaves are creamy white, with delicate shades ranging from light purple to wine red.
A very decorative chicory which is often used in mixed salad. The leaves are light and crunchy. The taste varies from sweet to pleasantly bitter.
