Growing method Sugar pod Delikett

Pre-sow indoors: From mid-January to the end of February, then plant out from the beginning of March.
Direct sowing outdoors: From mid-March to the beginning of May.
Planting distance: Keep 100 x 10 cm for optimal growth.
Location: Full sun or light shade in well-drained, humus-rich soil. Grow along wire mesh or brushwood for support.

Harvesting pods

Harvest the pods from June to August. Pick the pods as young as possible while they are still juicy. Pick regularly, as the peas will taste mealy if picked later.

Crop rotation

It is also wise to apply crop rotation to pods. Plant pods in the same place only once every 6 years to keep the chance of infection by fungal diseases as small as possible.
