This Red van Etampes pumpkin is a variety with a bright orange-red color. The pumpkin plants require a lot of space and form long tendrils with large leaves. How do you grow Etampes Pumpkins?

Sow the organic Etampes Pumpkin seeds in pots under glass in April-May. You can also sow directly in the open ground in mid-May. Plant out at 200 x 100 cm.

When is a Etampes pumpkin ripe?

Harvest pumpkins from September through October, at least before the first frost. A pumpkin is ripe when the stems begin to dry out and show small wrinkles/cracks. The pumpkin has stopped growing for some time and has now also become somewhat duller. Normally, the color becomes more intense.

Leave about 5 to 8 cm of stem on the pumpkin when harvesting. Harvest in dry conditions and try not to bruise or hurt the pumpkins. Store in a dry, frost-free place, do not pile the pumpkins on top of each other.
