Sowing
Sow the honeydew melon seeds from March in a seed tray at 20°C, or later outside under glass. After transplanting, preferably plant out in a greenhouse. The plants grow vigorously. For fruiting, the flowers must be pollinated by insects. So the box or tunnel must be open when the weather is good.
You can achieve the best results with melons in a hobby greenhouse, under flat glass or in a plastic tunnel. In the open field, temperatures are usually too low and the weather too changeable to successfully grow melons.
Harvest
The melons can be harvested from July to October. The skin of the melons is spotted green, only when they are ripe does the color change to cream-orange spotted.
