Organic Leek Blue-green Autumn can tolerate quite a bit of frost. This autumn leek does need a nutritious and deeply loosened soil. Blue-green Autumn leeks suffer less from signs of wear in late autumn or early winter.

How to grow leeks

Due to the slow initial development, it is wise to pre-sow the leek seeds thinly from the end of March to mid-May and only plant out in April at 40x15cm. If necessary, put them together for the winter and cover in case of severe frost.

In the winter months the leeks 'stand still' and the plant will not grow any further; the storability of the leek in the ground depends on the severity of the winter and to what extent the leek is in a sheltered place. We advise growers to closely monitor the health of the leeks in the winter months; and if the leek shows signs of weakness, we advise to harvest all leeks immediately.
