Sowing climbing peas
Sow peas directly in the open ground from February to April. Sowing indoors and planting out later in March is also possible.
Sow the peas in rows from North to South with a row spacing of 150cm and 5cm apart. Provide sufficient support by means of gauze or brushwood.
Make sure that the soil remains sufficiently moist during the growth and especially do not use fresh manure.
Harvest climbing peas
The peas can be harvested from June to the end of July.
Pick the pods while the peas are still juicy. If you pick too late, the peas will have a mealy taste. Regular picking is therefore recommended.
Interchangeable cultivation
It is wise to also use crop rotation for peas. Only place peas in the same spot once every 6 years to minimize the risk of fungal diseases. Sowing pods
