Sowing
Sow from February to March under glass, or from mid-April outdoors in a seedbed. Celery seeds are small and germinate slowly, so it's important not to sow them too deep. Cover lightly with sand or vermiculite and keep the soil consistently moist.
The seeds germinate after about three weeks. Allow the seedlings to grow slowly in a light, cool place, and only transplant them once they are strong enough. In May, you can plant them outdoors for a generous harvest during the summer months.
Harvesting
Harvest the celery when the stalks are thick enough. The harvest period runs from June to September.
