Lapwing dwarf green beans Borlotto Rosso organic seeds
Organic Dwarf lapwing bean, type Borlotto Rosso seeds from the Buzzy Organic Seeds collection.
There are different types of lapwing beans, this stock dried bean has a beautiful color and the taste is slightly softer and finer than that of brown beans. Great for fresh use in various dishes, but then remove the beans from the pod.
Stem lapwing beans are beans where the beans and pods have a mottled pattern. Because the drawing of the beans is reminiscent of that of a lapwing egg, these beans are also called lapwing beans.
- give sturdy plants
- rich harvest
- nice red-drawn flamed pods
The colorful lapwing beans can be used to shell, eat right away or dry and store for later.
Pievis beans are also called Borlotto beans.

Green beans cultivation method
Open field cultivation
Family beans can generally be sown a little earlier than pole beans. Because stem beans do not need support, choosing a suitable location is easier.
Sow the standard beans directly in the field from mid-May to mid-July. For early cultivation, sow under glass from mid-April and plant out in the second half of May.
Greenhouse cultivation
For early cultivation, standard beans can be pre-sown in a greenhouse from late March to mid-May.
Location
During germination and during the initial growth period, the stem beans need a lot of heat. After that, beans also need sufficient heat and moderately moist soil. Therefore, choose a sunny and sheltered position in the garden or greenhouse. Especially with early or late sowing, the results are highly dependent on the weather.
In wet and cold weather, the beans germinate poorly, so do not sow earlier than the indicated period. The beans can also be pre-soaked overnight to speed up germination.
All standard beans require a humus-rich, slightly moist soil, but do not use fresh farmyard manure, this contains too much nitrogen and causes too much leaf growth.
Keep a planting distance of approximately 40 x 10 cm.
