The Blue Poppy is a beautiful short-lived perennial that requires a nutritious and humus-rich soil and a place in the shade. The soil must remain moist in the summer months and dry in the winter.
Sufficient seed for 1 m2.
Sowing : Meconopsis is a so-called cold germinator. Sow May-August in a seed tray, first give 2-4 weeks warmth (18-22 ° C) then give a cold period in, for example, the refrigerator (+ 4 ° C) for 4-6 weeks. Then gently warm up to room temperature again, after which germination will follow. Plant out in September-October.
Directly outside on the spot or in pots from January to June is also possible, however, germination may be somewhat irregular.
