Sage seeds

Sage is mainly used as a herb and is particularly known from Mediterranean cuisine. Sage is an evergreen semi-shrub and grows to a height of about 60 cm. The leaves are thick, gray and strongly aromatic, in June/July the sage blooms with blue flowers. Sage is very popular with bees.

How do you use sage?

Sage has been used for centuries, not only for its delicious taste in dishes, but also for its medicinal properties. Sage tea can help with defecating disorder, sore throat and inflammation. In the past, the leaf was boiled in milk. This sage milk was considered medicinal and soothing.

Sage tastes good with meat dishes such as poultry, pork or lamb. Sage is mainly used in hot dishes. A lot of aroma is released when cutting the Sage leaves into small pieces.
