Swiss chard is eaten like spinach. The ribs stew like celery or asparagus.

Sowing: Sow Leaf Chard seeds from April to July (cultivation for the ribs) or until September (for the leaves) in the open ground. Sow in lines (or rows) 25 cm apart. Keep a distance of 5 cm in the row.

Tip: Regularly sow small amounts so that you always have fresh Swiss chard available.

Chard does well in any soil. Keep the soil sufficiently moist: so water regularly in dry weather.

Harvest: Depending on the sowing time from May to October. Cut the leaf a few centimeters above the ground. The stubble sprouts again, so that after a few weeks you can harvest again from the same seed.
