Cutting Celery
Cutting Celery is a favorite among kitchen gardeners. This variety quickly grows into a sturdy plant about 35 cm tall, with fresh green, aromatic leaves that are perfect for soups, sauces, and broths. Thanks to its compact size and high yield, it’s an excellent choice for any vegetable garden.
Sowing
Sow indoors under glass from March to April (and again in September), or directly outdoors from April to August. Sow in rows in a sunny location. Sow shallowly, as the fine seeds germinate best with light. Germination takes 2 to 4 weeks, so some patience is needed — but the reward is months of fresh, homegrown celery.
Harvesting
Harvest from July through March. Keep the soil moist and cut the leaves a few centimeters above the ground. The plant will regrow, allowing for multiple harvests.
