Big burdock Tonkinokawa Long (Arctium lappa) is a Japanese variety of the well-known burdock root. Only the roots, which are formed in the first year, are tasty. The roots can be used just like salsify.

In the first year after sowing, no flowers are formed and therefore no tangles.
Sow in April and/or May at a row spacing of 40 to 50 cm, thin out in the row at 35 cm. The roots can become very large and can be harvested from July to October. Excavation has a good effect on the condition.
