Delikett Sugarsnap Sugar Peas

Pods Delikett is a pod of the pod / pea or sugar snap type. Delikett's legumes can be used in their entirety as snow peas when young and can later be used as garden peas by pods. The taste is extra sweet.

Delikett plants grow to about 65 cm high. The cultivation of Delikett pods along wire mesh or brushwood is recommended but not necessary. Delikett is suitable for freezing.

Sow Delikett sugar snap directly in the garden from February to May. Delikett sugarnap green peas can be harvested from June to mid-July.

Pick the pods while the peas are still juicy. If you pick it too late, the peas will have a mealy taste. Regular picking is therefore advisable.

Cultivation method / sowing stock peas

Sowing

Sow Delikett sugar juice peas directly in the garden from February to May. It is also possible to pre-sow indoors and then transplant out later.

Sow the peas in rows with a row distance of 45 cm and 5 cm apart. Make sure the soil remains sufficiently moist during growth. Do not use fresh farmyard manure.

Brushwood or mesh to support Delikett sugar juice is not necessary, but recommended. It makes it easier to pick the sugar snap pods.

Harvests

Delikett sugar juice peas can be harvested from June to mid-July.

Crop cultivation

It is wise to also use crop rotation with peas. Only put peas in the same spot once every 6 years to minimize the risk of fungal infections.
