Globe Thistle (Echinops)

Echinops blooms with round flowers in the period July-September. The leaves are gray-green. The location of Echinops should be sunny, permeable and dry. The name Echinops comes from the Greek (echinos) and means 'Hedgehog'.

Echinops ball thistle combines beautifully with Lychnis, Liatris spicata, Rudbeckia, Sedum, Portulaca or Echinacea.
