Compact plants with attractive upright clusters of hot, intensely flavoured fruits, slender up to 7.5cm (3in) long. Best grown in a greenhouse but can be grown in a warm position outdoors.

 

Recipe Tip: Fry cubes of chicken breast until brown and set aside. Fry chopped red chillies, garlic, lemongrass and a few kaffir lime leaves until softened, return the chicken to the pan. Add coconut milk to cover and simmer until chicken is thoroughly cooked, serve.
